2006/2007Marching Band
Cape Fear High School - has an enrollment of 1350 students and is located in the most rural area of Cumberland County seven miles east of Fayetteville, North Carolina. There are 150 students currently enrolled in The Cape Fear High School Band program. From its beginning The Cape Fear High School Band program has been a proud and integral part of Cape Fear High School and it’s community. The band performs at football games, basketball games, parades and other local and community functions.
The Cape Fear High School Band has enjoyed much success at Concert Band Festivals as well as Marching Band Competitions throughout North Carolina and Southeastern United States. The Cape Fear Symphonic Band was the 2000 Concert Band Grand Champion at The Fiestaval Concert Band Festival in Williamsburg, Virginia and has received Superior ratings in Grade VI for the past 8 years. The Marching Colts have been Grand Champions at The Lumberton Band Day, The Southview Rumble in The Jungle, The Clinton Band Day, The Highland Celebration, The JH Rose Band Festival, The Cummings Classic, The Terry Sanford Bulldog Invitational and The Ancient City Presentation of Bands in St. Augustine, Florida.
Students from the band are consistently placed in the Southeastern All-District Band and The North Carolina All-State Honors Band. The Cape Fear High School Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the 2003 and the 2006 North Carolina Music Educators Association Conference.
DEMOGRAPHICS
Cape Fear High School - located in the Northeast region of Cumberland County. The school is situated approximately 20 miles from Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. The community is largely a farming and residential community that takes great pride in the many accomplishments of students at Cape Fear High School. The school, one of 12 high schools in Cumberland County, and is a Division 4A school comprised of grades 9-12.
Mac Williams Middle School and 8 elementary schools serve as feeder schools.
